- HEAT RETENTION / MULTIPLE LAYERS– The Martelli block press/clapper comes equipped with a no-slip barrier that retains the heat from your iron. After you’ve ironed your fabric and place the block press/clapper on top, the heat rises into the no-slip barrier which then redistributes the heat evenly throughout your fabric. The added weight helps to push the heat through to the bottom layer of your fabric so that both sides of your fabric are pressed simultaneously underneath the block press/clapper. You can even press multiple layers of fabric at once.
- NO-SLIP – In addition to heat retention, the no-slip barrier prevents fabric from slipping to minimize wrinkles. The no-slip material grips your fabric and allows you to move your fabric with the press (like our rulers). Most quilters and sewists know that wrinkled fabric can be a nightmare to work with. Especially when it comes to fabric pressing, but the added weight of this block press/clapper in combination with the no-slip barrier makes avoiding or even correcting wrinkles easy.
- COMFORT GRIP KNOB – The block press/clapper comes with a comfort grip knob that must be screwed into the top of the press/clapper (no additional tools are necessary). After you’ve screwed the knob into the block you’ll notice how easily you can lift the block press/clapper and also how comfortable the knob feels in your hand.
- CARE & CLEANING – This product can be wiped clean with a washcloth. When cleaning the no-slip material it’s preferable to use a damp washcloth. PLEASE AVOID GETTING THE NO-SLIP BARRIER WET. Should the no-slip barrier begin to peel away from the block you may use any super glue to reattach it. These block press/clappers are built with high quality materials making them a sewing & quilting tool that will have longevity in your sewing room or studio.
