Vintage: Johsel Namkung: An Artists View of Nature Paperback Photography Paperback Catalog Book (March 29-May 28, 1978).
This beautiful vintage catalog book features the photography or artist Johsel Namkung. Born in Korea, Johsel Namkung (1919-2013) emigrated to the United States in 1947. Although he was a trained musician, he turned to photography in 1956 and enrolled in a workshop in California with Ansel Adams. Back in the Northwest, he had exhibitions at the Henry Gallery and the Seattle Art Museum and he became a close friend of Horiuchi and Tsutakawa as well as Tobey, Callahan and Anderson.
This catalog book was created by the Seattle Art Museum and was distributed by the University of Washington Press (Seattle & London). The book contains 35 full-color plates shot in Washington, California and British Columbia between 1974-1977. Book is in very good vintage condition with no markings; there is a soft crease on the right side.
