Antique Engraving Famous Trotting Horse Goldsmith Maid Queen of the Trotter
The image is an antique engraving of the famous trotting horse Goldsmith Maid. She was a bay mare, often referred to as "the Queen of the Trotters". The engraving was notably published in Harper's Weekly in October 1869. She had a long and successful racing career, continuing to race until she was 20 years old. Goldsmith Maid was known for her speed and set multiple world records for the fastest mile by a trotting horse during her career.
